Healing in Toe

Healing in Toe

From a walk to a fall, with injury to toe
Black skin burned hot, with a red glow
Hospital appointments were set, for doctors to see
Then South Wind blew, his caress into me

It became Easter, symbolic of new life..
With a transformation and thank God no knife
The caterpillar toe was wrapped. in a wiggling cocoon
To emerge as a butterfly, straight from the tomb

I give gratitude to wind, flowers, eggs and chicks
Who symbolize my toe’s re-birth, in a state of trans-fix
Where daffodils and tulips bloom just in the spring,
South Wind was there, for a healing to bring
